Gabala tour

Gabala-Gabala is the ancient capital of Caucasian Albania. Archeological evidence indicates that the city functioned as the capital of Caucasian Albania as early as the 4th century BC. Up to the present time there are the ruins of the ancient city and the main gate of Caucasian Albania. Ongoing excavations near the village Chukhur show that Gabala from 4th – 3rd centuries BC and up to the 18th century was one of the main cities with developed trade and crafts.

Gabala is located 220 km from Baku.

1.Cable car of Gabala-ride in a cable car to watch the nature and enjoy active rest in summer.There is more than 5-kilometer walking distance in the rope lines and 4 stations (points to stop). These are the L2 Riverside station with the height of 956m- 1660m, the L4 Gabala cable car track with the height of 1251-1660m, the L5 Duruca cable car track with the height of 1251-1410m, and the L6 Sleeping Beauty cable car track with the height of 1410-1920 meters.

Nohurlake-Eye-catching Lake Nohur with the magnificent view to Caucasus Mountains, fresh air and water is one of the most picturesque places of Gabala.

3. Chukhur Gabala -The area where Gabala Archaeological Center is located (local population call it as Chukhur Gabala) was built in the territory of the capital city of Gabala Albania since the 4th century BC. Archaeological researches are being conducted in this area since 1926. This archaeological center is divided into three areas for its functionality and for reflecting historical periods: “Gala”, “Salbir” and “Chaggalli”.
The Chaggalli settlement (50 ha) consists of remains of city life that existed in the 4th century BC. Rich and cultural layers with a few meter thick dating to the 1-10th century in Salbir settlement (13 ha) and to the 1-7th century in Gala settlement (12 ha) of ancient Gabala were discovered.

4. Gabaland- Gabaland is the largest theme park in the open air in Azerbaijan and in the region, and favorite destination both for foreign guests coming to Gabala and local people. Entertainment and leisure park is intended both for adults and children. The park is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Gabala and is open all the year round. In the entertainment centre Gabaland there are interesting attractions for all age categories – from small children (4 years) to adults. Over 50 attractions are functioning in the entertainment centre.


5. Seven Beauties Waterfall- This mountainous waterfall flowing from the highest peaks of the Caucasus Mountains and locates in Vandam village of Gabala. The name of the Seven Beauties (Yeddi Gozal) Waterfall originates from the name of the 7 mountain roads that should pass to reach the waterfall.
